Best Friends or Best Enemies?
Best Friends or Best Enemies?
If you've been watching WWE and NXT the past few years, then you know that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn went from being best friends to worst enemies (on-screen). They had a great rivalry going in 2016, and it seemed like it was going to last forever. The crowds would even chant "fight forever" during their rivalry matches.
However, things changed at the Hell in a Cell PPV when Sami Zayn saved Kevin Owens from being put through a table by Shane McMahon. Due to this act, they've been best friends again for the past few months.
As you all know, Daniel Bryan recently stated that AJ Styles is going to have to defend his WWE Championship against both Kevin and Sami in a handicap match at the Royal Rumble. Now, this could either go really well or really bad for the best friend duo.
If you remember, back in 2016, Roman Reigns had to defend his United States Championship against both Kevin Owens (then Universal Champion) and Chris Jericho, who were best friends at the time, in a handicap match. The two worked together, and in the end, Jericho pinned Roman to win the title. We all remember the messy ending to this friendship.
So, we could possibly see Kevin and Sami work together throughout the whole match to defeat AJ Styles. There's the possibility that they could pin AJ at the same time, to truly become the first ever co-WWE Champions. This could lead to a great storyline where they take turns by having one defend the title, and the other helps distract the ref and opponent.
On the other hand, we could see their egos get in the way and they turn on each other at the Royal Rumble; causing AJ to retain the title. I imagine this is the reason why Daniel Bryan set up the match in the first place, but I could be wrong about his intentions.
Then, there's the possibility of Shane McMahon causing Kevin and Sami to lose the match against AJ as revenge for costing Team Smackdown Live the match at Survivor Series.
There are a lot of things that could come from this match at the PPV. Will the best friend duo work together to defeat the common enemy? Will they be forced to turn on each other? Will Shane McMahon continue to find ways to get rid of them?
Let me know in the comments what you think will happen in the WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble.
Stay tough, and stay positive.
After reading this I think Sami & Kevin will have conflict against Styles. Leading to an amazing feud at Mania! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI think Shane will make sure they loose at the ppv! However... I would love to see KO as the champ again! grtz Tina
ReplyDeleteHonestly forgot all about KO & Jericho and it does seem to be super similar. Best friends until it the end or more accurately until it has to be every man for himself. That does seem like the logical route but I also like your thoughts with Shane costing them the Champion. Also makes a lot of sense and we know the McMahons don't like to be crossed. But to be honest I am tired of seeing Shane in the middle of things, so I'm hoping that doesn't happen. (C.A.J)

KO and Sami like to say It's the Sami and Kevin Show.
Well it's the Shane McMahon show people.
His character is just that of his sister.

I think at the rumble shane will get involved and aj will win the match but i kinda think this "friendship" could crash again having Sami vs KO at mania which would be awsome consedering everything they have been through.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the promo at the top of smackdown on Wednesday morning on sky sports, I said they are gonna argue who is gonna pin AJ styles meaning styles is gonna win so hoops you have a similar idea to how I think is gonna happen
